What it Means to Be Made in the USA

We are proud to be a USA-based manufacturer, which is a distinction and honor we don’t take lightly. We have built a reputation as a top choice for silicone injection molding products and processes all across the nation. We became that way through dedication and commitment to making an ironclad “Made in America” pledge.

This is how we achieve our goals of quality through providing a superior manufacturing experience to our valued customers.

Made in America

Based in Newport News, Virginia, we make all our silicone products here in the USA using state-of-the-art technology. We give you the highest quality at the most affordable price, in an age where it seems everyone is outsourcing their manufacturing processes overseas to save a buck.

We’re not interested in saving a buck if it comes at the cost of quality. That’s why we’ve always been USA-based and always will be. In fact, we have been immersed in the silicone manufacturing business for more than 75 years. As a result of this staying power, we have partnered with companies around the globe who trust us with the manufacture of their silicone keypads and custom products.

Defining Made in America

It’s easy to say something’s made in America, but what does that really mean? In general, this is when a product is produced or assembled in the United States using all or nearly all domestic materials. Put another way, the product must contain no — or negligible — foreign content.

Actually, “Made in USA” is a label that is protected by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the standards are more stringent than you may think.

FTC says that:

  • All significant parts and processing that have gone into a product have to be of U.S. origin.
  • There must be no or negligible foreign content.
  • Manufacturers must provide “competent” and “reliable” evidence to back up their claims.
  • Final assembly or processing has to take place in the U.S.

To that last point, “assembled in the USA” only means that the product was put together in this country but the parts came from other countries. Essentially, to ensure the “Made in the USA” label is true, the parts must originate here and the product must be assembled here as well.

We can say all of the above, thanks to our local operations and locally sourced parts. We do it all for you, our valued customers. Our goal is always to make sure you’re happy with the final product!
