Sealing with Silicone

Here at SiTech, we specialize in more than just molding silicone rubber keypads. We manufacture various silicone products, including: gaskets, seals, grips, isolators, electronic contacts and cushioning pads for use in data acquisition instruments, portable communications devices, and many more components for use in a wide array of applications. Unlike most thermoplastic elastomers (TPRs and TPEs), LSR remains flexible and elastic as low as -58°F and retains its properties up to 392°F. This is especially useful for ruggedized devices that are expected to perform in harsh conditions.

One main reason customers may end up going with injection molding LSR is geometry. Any sort of 3D product that cannot be constructed in a flat configuration will generally require some sort of molding process. In addition, LSR LIM is a process that allows for high volume production of durable parts. A low compression set, great stability, short manufacturing cycle times, and repeatability make LSR highly suitable for the production of parts where high quality is a necessity.

All of our business is custom manufacturing. With this being the case, we have had experience with all types, shapes and complexities of silicone molding. We specialize in insert molding and dealing with part complexity. Our Engineers analyze a potential part for the best possible methods of molding, extraction, de-flashing and decoration. We guide customers through the complete life cycle of customer input and design, prototyping (if applicable), tooling/mold production, and production.
