Keypad Assembly

Silicone Keypad Assembly

The silicone keypad assembly process is a fascinating one, and it’s one we rely on here at SiTech. It’s efficient, cost effective, easy to implement and customize. In fact, everything can be customized with this process, from shapes to surface finishes.

We offer the option to order your silicone rubber keypad with any of the following:

  • Membrane circuit
  • Printed circuit board
  • Metal domes
  • Polyester domes

These all slash the time it takes to manage the various sub-assemblies that contribute to keypad assembly. Our process starts at the design phase and goes all the way through turnkey solutions. Let’s give you a look into how the silicone keypad featured on your medical devices and manufacturing machinery has been assembled.

We Cater to Many Industries

We get several requests from our customers every year to manufacture a complete keypad assembly. To that end, our factory capabilities have had to evolve. We meet the needs of all industries, such as aerospace, medical, commercial contracting, telecommunications, automotive and laboratory instrumentation.

Depending on your industry and the specific needs your device or application requires, we can design the right keypad for you using silicone materials of the highest quality. Whether you want a Printed Circuit Board Order or a flat membrane switch, we can handle it. To get started, we just need to know your intended usage, requirements, material needs and schematics. So you can get the result quickly, we offer rapid prototyping for our clients of all kinds.

Choosing the Design

You get a multitude of Silastikey™ design options to choose from, such as:

  • Key Travel and Actuation Forces
  • Back Lighting

  • SiPrime ™ Adhesive Primer System to allow for adhesive bonding and laminating
  • Light Pipes

Once you have settled on the desired design options, we move on to the core elements of your overall design. You will choose:

  1. Type of Termination: Connector, Header, Ribbon or Flat Flex cable
  2. Type of board plating in Matte Tin Plate, HASL, Nickel, or Gold Plating
  3. Single/Double-sided or Multi-layer boards according to your industry application
  4. Type of dome for desired tactile response: metal or polyester
  5. Mechanical vs. tack switch PCB mounted or auto insertion
